ABOUT MITV
MITV is an English television and video production company who have
been producing programmes for international distribution since 1989.
We specialise in Switzerland and have made a series of 24 railway
travelogues, available on DVD and video, which have been screened
on various television stations worldwide under the "Swiss Rail Journeys" series
title. We have also made a number of "enthusiasts specials" and cab
rides, and have built up an enviable reputation for our quality and
knowledge. We also make a general travel
series "Switzerland
in Camera", and three programmes are now available
with a fourth in production. Our programmes are made in a variety
of languages.
Directors Sue Knight (Harnett) and Chris Harnett,
have worked for many years within the BBC, ITV and Sky Television before setting up MITV, turning their love of Switzerland
into a new career. They had spent many holidays in Canton Graubünden and the Bernese Oberland, and had a considerable knowledge of Swiss
railways in those regions.
Sue and Chris have also built a model railway in their garden in southern England.
This is based on the Rhaetian Railway of south-eastern Switzerland, a company
they have worked with closely over the years. This railway has been featured
on local television as well as being part of a programme made by MITV.
