My wife and I watched the first MITV Swiss Rail Journeys in the early 90s on PBS television. We were hooked. Since then we have purchased the series twice on VHS and the entire series on DVD from MITV. In 2004 we traveled to Switzerland and rode as many scenic trains as we could on Christmas week. In 2005 we spent more time in Switzerland riding more scenic trains and again in 2006. The most memorable were the Albula line and the Bernina line because of the incredible scenery. We stayed in Bergün and hiked from Preda to Bergun to see the famous spirals close up. All this was inspired by the remarkable productions from Sue Knight and Chris Knight of MITV. In 2007 another dream came true. We met Chris and Sue in person. They are as wonderful as the videos. Their love of trains and Switzerland is contagious. We know first hand. There is no higher recommendation that we can give MITV, Chris and Sue for this awesome set of programs. Warning you will feel a great desire go to Switzerland if you watch these. Shot from the cab, within the train, on the route, and by helicopter from the air, the production values are top notch broadcast quality as they both came from the BBC and are perfectionsists. I only wish HD had been available when these were made. Despite that the set is incredibly good quality. I would buy it again unhesitatingly. What's the next best thing to being there at a fraction of the cost? SWISS RAIL JOURNEYS - THE SERIES ON DVD. Highly recommended from unabashed fans of Chris and Sue.
